To begin with, our test server checks the domain DNS records corresponding to the domain name's mail servers (the MX ). It then connects to the one with the lowest value ( the mail server indicated as priority ).

The mail server is queried by our testing tool on the’ existence of the email account and how it works. You will thus obtain information on:

  • the size of emails accepted by the server ( SIZE en octets ),
  • on the tunnelled connection support ( PIPELINING ) ,
  • if the mail server responds correctly to the’ existence d’ an email address ( Vrfy ),
  • if the server accepts commands to process pending messages ( ETRN ),
  • if the mail server accepts’ sending in format 8 bits ( 8WE BEAT ),
  • s’ it accepts email delivery notifications ( DSN = Delivery Status Notifications),
  • if the server accepts standard SMTP response protocols ( ENHANCEDSTATUSCODES )
  • whether the server accepts secure connections ( STARTTLS )
  • the types of authentications accepted ( AUTH LOGIN PLAIN CRAM-MD5 )

N.B. : We’ do not send any emails to’ email address that you give us and n’ we do not save the emails provided. This tool only has one function, that of testing the proper functioning of your email address and associated email servers.
