Threatened by Google, two sites for converting a YouTube video to MP3, Dirpy and Clipconverter, have blocked this option. But there are still multiple comparable services online, plus software clients.

Spurred on by the beneficiaries, and in particular by the RIAA, Google went to war against online services allowing, from a URL, convert a video hosted on YouTube to an MP3 file.

Youtube-mp3.org is not the only service of this type to have been summoned by Google – CNet.com has been demanded by the RIAA, removal of YouTubeDownloader conversion software. Other sites have also been threatened with lawsuits by Google.

What about software converters

This is the case of Dirpy.com, which displays the color from its home page. It is no longer possible for users to convert YouTube videos to audio files. To avoid the trial, Dirpy preferred to block this feature.

Clipconverter.cc, another online converter, now also blocks the conversion of videos from the Google platform. If the online service is blocked, the publisher of the site has not given up on offering its browser extension, who performs the same operation.

A quick search on the Google engine also reveals that a number of sites still offer this type of service.. Google will therefore have a lot of work to do if it wants to close each of them. But perhaps its objective is above all to demonstrate its good faith to the beneficiaries ?
