«The advertiser, by targeting user interests, will be able to communicate with more users and deliver more messages to people likely to engage with your tweets. When people discover deals and information about things they care about on Twitter, it's good for both sides, advertisers and users », explains Twitter in its blog.
« Par exemple, if you want to promote a new animated film about dogs, you can select Animation (under Film and Television), Cartoon (under Leisure and interests) and dog (under pets). These personalized segments allow you to reach users with similar interests to a user's followers », specifies the management team of the social network.
This desire to monetize Twitter will certainly make some lucky people, since the network has more than 400 million users. « We believe that this new bidding level, in combination with interest targeting, will lead to a better ROI for each campaign on Twitter », underlines the group.
